Helpful AutoCAD 2000 settings
ATTDIA - Controls whether the INSERT command uses a dialog
box for attribute value entry.
0 - Issues prompts on the command line.
1 - Uses a dialog box.
CMDDIA - Controls whether dialog
boxes are turned on for PLOT and external database commands.
0 - Turns off dialog boxes.
1 - Turns on dialog boxes.
FILEDIA - Suppresses
display of the file dialog boxes.
0 - Does not display dialog boxes.
1 - Displays file dialog boxes.
MBUTTONPAN
- Controls the behavior of the third button or
wheel on the pointing device.
0 - Supports the action defined in the AutoCAD menu
(.mnu) file.
1 - Supports panning by holding and dragging button
or wheel.

ARG - Drawing
environment settings saved as a profile. If you share
your workstation with other users, you can restore your
options by making your profile current.
LSP - ASCII
text file containing AutoLISP program code.
MNU - Template
menu file.
MNC - Compiled
menu file. This binary file contains the command strings
and menu syntax that defines the functionality and appearance
of the menu.
MNR - Menu
resource file. This binary file contains the bitmaps
used by the menu.
MNS - Source
menu file (generated by AutoCAD).
MNL - This
file contains AutoLISP expressions that are used by
the menu file and are loaded into memory when a menu
file with the same file name is loaded.

Plotting Configurations
Important
Note: "The AutoCAD Migration Assistant must be loaded
in order to Configure plotting"
CTB - Color-dependent
plot styles are based on object Color. There are 255
color-dependent plot styles. In a color-dependent plot
style table, you cannot add, delete, or rename color-dependent
plot styles.
STB - Named plot styles work independently of object
color. You can assign any plot style to any object regardless
of that object's color. With named plot styles, you
use the object's color property as do any other property.
STYLESMANAGER - The Plot Style Manager helps you create,
edit, and store CTB and STB files. All your
CTB &
STB files are stored here or in subdirectories or shortcuts.
CONVERTCTB - Creates a
named plot style table from a color dependent plot style
table.
CONVERTPSTYLES – Converts a Color Dependent plot style
drawing to use Named plot styles or a Named plot styles
to a Color Dependent plot style drawing.
How to convert R14 pen settings to
AutoCAD 2000
AutoCAD R14 stored pen settings in plotter configuration
files (pcp or pc2). AutoCAD 2000 stores pen settings
in pen style tables. Convert your R14 pen settings to
AutoCAD 2000 format.
Here's How:

Open the Windows control panel :
Start > Settings > Control Panel

Start the Autodesk Plot Style Manager :
Double-click the Autodesk Plot Style Manager icon.

Start the Add-A-Plot Style Table Wizard :
Double-click the Add-A-Plot Style Table Wizard icon.

Introduction Page :
Click 'Next'

Begin :
Select 'Use PCP or PC2 File', then click 'Next'..

Pick Plot Style Table :
Select 'Color-Dependent Plot Style Table', then
click 'Next'.

Browse File Name :
Click 'Browse', navigate to the location of the
existing pcp/pc2 file, select the file, click 'Open,
then click 'Next'.

File Name :
Enter a name for the AutoCAD 2000 Plot Style Table.

Finish:
Click 'Finish to complete the creation of the Plot
Style Table.
Tips:

The plot style table can now be assigned to layouts
in AutoCAD 2000.
