These instructions are for
creating plot files for submittal purposes so Napco can output
for you. Be sure to use the appropriate instructions for your
version of AutoCAD.

These instructions
are for Black and White Plotting only.

- Make sure
AutoCAD is closed before continuing any
further.
- Download
and Save the AutoCAD Plotter Configuration (.pc3) file
here
- Save it to
your C:\Documents and
Settings\<USERNAME>\Application
Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2005\R16.x\enu\Plotters
folder.
- Download
and save the AutoCAD 2000-2002 Plot Style Table (.ctb)
file here
- Save it to
your C:\Documents and
Settings\<USERNAME>\Application
Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2005\R16.x\enu\Plot Styles
folder.
- After the
files are saved in the correct location, you can start
AutoCAD and open your drawing that you need to
plot.
- When you
click the print/plot button select the Napco.pc3
plotter in the Printer/plotter Name
field.
- Select the
Napco.ctb
in the plot style table (pen assignments) for your
drawing that you wish to plot.
- Select the
edit button (for the ctb) to
adjust your pen thickness and screen patterns, as
these settings will be applied to your output
file.
By
default, pens 8, 9, 250 - 255 are screened pens, so
any information in your drawing using these colors or
pen numbers will be screened.
- Set your
paper size, plot area and plot
scale.
- Select
Preview to make sure all of your info is on the
drawing, what you see in preview is exactly what will
print.
- Once it's
fully previewed and it looks acceptable, hit enter
then ok.
- Select a
folder and type a file name in the Browse for Plot
File section. The file will have a .plt extension.
- Click Save
to create the .plt file for
output.
Note: If you need
to make an existing layer or color a screen pattern, you
can select your existing pen color that you want to make
a screened pattern and change the color properties of
that pen to color 8, 9, 250 - 255 depending on the
darkness of the shade you require.
You can then
send us the plot file(s) you
have created via Naptrak, email
or
call 201-438-1500 for FTP
instructions.

folder.

- After the

plot style table for your drawing that you wish to
plot.
- Select Edit

1. Go to the “TOOLS” menu 2. Go to “PREFERENCES” menu 3. Choose
“PRINTER” tab 4. Click on
“NEW” 5. Choose “HEWLETT PACKARD HPGL/2 DEVICES, ADI FOR
AUTODESK BY HP” 6. Choose “1” printer “HP
DESIGNJET 750C” 7. Specify that the
printer is connected to a <P> parallel port 8.
For the parallel port name type a period = “.” 9. Yes you want to change
something = “Y” 10.
Continue to hit enter until you see,
“WRITE PLOT TO FILE” enter “Y” 11. Select the default or
hit “ENTER” for the rest of
the questions 12. You will see that your new printer
is now in the preferences menu, Exit by selecting “OK”
You can now plot the way you
normally would with this new driver and submit the
created plot file "*.plt" to
Napco for output.
